- Tomme de Savoie is made in Savoy region of France.
- It is made from skimmed cow’s milk after the cream is drained to make butter.
- The taste of the cheese varies throughout the year depending on whether the milk comes from cows eating winter hay or fresh summer grass. The thick, grey rind is formed by mucor molds.
- This cheese is excellent melted, on a cheeseboard, in slices with apples and great for grilling. Tomme de Savoie is always a good idea.
PERFECT PARTNER:
Medium-bodied red wines from Côtes du Rhône work well or try with local Savoy white wines made with Jacquère grapes, which are floral and fruity.
